Box Elder Set

Box Elder is in the Maple family. Some Box Elder has red veins running through the wood. I have read that this is caused from a meteor strike near the tree--okay that was on e-bay and probably not true. Other people say that the color is caused from small beetles that tunnel through the wood leaving a fungus that turns red.
This set is a box with a loose lid and an open box.
