  Cherry Armoire

I'm working on an Armoire out of Cherry.

This is the base. I'm building drawers now. The two smaller drawers are mounted on a center drawer slide. The two larger drawer need to carry a lot of weight so they will get Blum Tantem slides.

Drawers without fronts.

Drawers open. The bottom drawers are full extension.

Close-up of drawer corner. The front is Cherry and sides and back are Maple.

(Okay--I took pictures of the drawer fronts and the base top being glued up and I can't find them anywhere. )

I then worked on the top of the cabinet.  The cove moulding was shaped on the table saw and then hand sanded.  The panels on the sides and the doors are cherry.  The back panels are birch plywood.

I turned the cherry knobs from a piece of dried cherry from Meadowbrook, Ill.

The doors are installed on top.

I like sap wood.  And I like the contrast between the heart wood and the sap wood.

The Armoire was not put together until we moved it into its new home.

This is the Armoire closed.

This is the Armoire open.  The finish is Royal Finish a wipe on finish.

Note:  The Cherry Armoire moved to Phoenix, AZ.  I took the top off of it so packing it in the truck would be easier.
