Woodworking and Woodturning in Native Woods

Custom turnings

Do you have a special piece of wood? People save branches from trees from the house they grew up in or the first house they bought.

This piece of cedar came from a woman's grandmother's home. The branch was saved for years.

The antlers came from a deer shot by a friend. He thought a pen was a great idea. (His wife would allow only so many mounted deer heads on the wall of the den.)

The cedar was easy to turn, even though it is a softwood. It has pretty color and still smells like cedar.

The deer antler are very hard to make into pens. Drilling straight holes through curved antlers takes practice and patience. But the effort is worth it!

This is a piece of Barn Board sent to me from Oregon. It came from a barn built during the depression out of pallets.  The antler is whitetail deer.

The pen is a teachers pen that writes in both black and red ink.

Turn that special piece of wood into a pen that you can keep for a lifetime.

Prices start at $30.00 for a pen turned Just for You.
