Woodworking and Woodturning in Native Woods

 Gallery 1

The wood from this platter was given to me.  It was a disk of Mahogany that probably dated from the turn of the last century.  It had been used as something in a factory or in a packing crate.  It had screw holes and so much dirt on it that I was surprised the guy that gave it to me knew it was Mahogany.

The disk was about 18" round.  I trimmed it  on my bandsaw and filled the holes with cherry plugs.
