Walnut/ Antler Bowl

6 ½ " across and 3" tall

Walnut

Juglans nigra

This multi media piece is made from Walnut and Elk Antler. This leaning toward a basket style of Native Americans.

The deep rich brown sets walnut apart from other nutwoods. Sapwood can be a cream color. Beautiful figure is found in crotches. Used for furniture and gunstocks as well as bowls.

This walnut came from Michigan near Lansing the Elk antler is from Idaho.

The box is finished with an oil finish that is very durable, but not waterproof. This box can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. If you wish, a furniture paste wax maybe used to protect finish.
